A child leans forward over the water's edge, the figure's whole weight tipped toward a small paper boat floating just out of reach. The reflection below mirrors the posture exactly, so the figure exists twice , once in the world, once in the water that will carry the boat away.
The paper boat is the smallest thing in the composition and the center of everything. It holds no cargo, has no destination, and cannot be steered. What the child sends out is both a gift and a surrender , the first lesson in the distance between intention and where things actually go.
