Solace is a figurative work on panel, gold on black.
A kneeling figure occupies the lower left, rendered in gold with gestural texture. From this posture, a loose constellation of skull forms disperses upward and to the right, varying in size and completeness, some fragmenting as they move away from the figure. The right side of the panel holds open dark ground. The diagonal between figure and skulls gives the composition both tension and release, the relationship between the two left deliberately open.
