Apex is an original work in 18k gold on paper, 16 × 20 × 1 inches.
The raised hand is the point everything builds toward: a single extended arm reaching the upper field of the composition, the figure below it ascending through a gown that widens as it descends, until the lower portion dissolves into scattered, fragmenting marks , other figures, perhaps, or crowd, or the residue of a moment rather than its substance.
The title names a physical highest point and a moment of culmination, and the composition holds both at once. What rises from fragmentation reaches upward carrying the weight of everything below it, yet the gold thins as it climbs, marks loosening rather than concentrating at the peak. Arrival and dissolution happen in the same gesture.
