A seated figure in a pointed hat and ruffled collar tilts its head upward toward a large crescent arc that curves through the upper-left field. The figure is built from hatched and broken marks rather than continuous line, so the body reads as something assembled from attention rather than drawn in a single gesture. The crescent above carries the same density of making , dotted, textured strokes that thin toward the top.
The posture is the whole argument: a figure looking up at a symbol that has meant lunacy, divinity, and navigation in equal measure. The costume and the celestial arc occupy the same gold field without hierarchy. The figure is not beneath the crescent in any diminishing sense.
