Fractured Fall is an original work in gold leaf on paper, 18 × 24 × 1.5 inches.
A figure stands with her back to us, umbrella held open above her, rain falling in loose vertical strokes across the entire field. The reflection below her feet doubles the composition downward , the figure exists twice: once in the world, once in the water the world has become.
Rain is the condition that fractures a surface into mirror. The figure neither retreats from the weather nor fights it , she stands inside it, and the gold that renders her is the same gold that renders the storm. Exposure and luminosity are made of the same substance. To be caught in something and to be lit by it turns out to be a single experience.
One-of-a-kind original. Gold leaf on paper. 18 × 24 × 1.5 inches.
A moment of stillness inside weather, rendered in gold and unrepeatable.
