I created Fermata Sospesa using gold leaf on paper. This work measures 18 × 24 × 1.5 inches, completed in 2026. The viewer encounters the luminous quality of gold leaf applied to the paper surface. The material creates its own presence through the interplay of light and the metallic surface, where the gold leaf catches and reflects illumination across the paper ground. The dimensions give the work a substantial presence while maintaining the intimate scale that allows for close examination of how the gold leaf sits on the paper substrate.
